A Serenade for the Girl Far Far Away

I don't wanna lie awake,
I want to dream about you,
remember that feeling
to have you in my arms.

I haven't taken off your kiss
from the nape of my neck.
It reminds me of a touch so gentle.
The sweetest gift I could ever have.

I don't have remorse
that you are not here for now.
For there is something
that connects my heart,
to your heart. And I know,
distances in space don't matter,
for you are always close
for you are always in my heart.

Its greater than the strength of will
and all the forces of nature combined together,
the love that I've, for you.
All the memories of us together
stand witness to it.
And 'tis so grand-
it embraces the world around me.

So I don't feel alone.
Cos I got you,
in my mind, in my sight
for tonight;
And for every night that follows.

PS: There is a deep sense of calmness I get in love.

i really enjoy your blog ! Peace of mind can never be obtained through the voice of the mind; peace comes only when the mind is aligned with the heart.

Love! Sigh! This almost made me feel like I was in utopia.

Beautiful, Lovish! :)

[But I don't feel that peace of mind in love anymore.] =(

A glimpse of what would be wonderful to have... but unfortunately, in the real world, love like this does not exist. It is merely an illusion for those who choose to believe in it. I know all the romantics out there will want to wring my neck for this, but love is never immortal... however long lasting, it is always effervescent. Its sad... but true.

Aman: Thanks for those wise words! Ironically the chaos in this world is for attaining this peace of mind. yet we look everywhere else but not within for it. I guess i'm one of them too, unfortunately. I guess we shall all learn by and by :)

Shurtiii, i'm glad this made u feel utopic :) yes i guess i feel the same too. But while writing this, i just shut that feeling off and tried to experience an unadulterated love like i've felt before. As they say na, if you look for it love is actually all around ;)

Hello Aninomo, I think love like that exists. And i've experienced it myself. but yes it didn't last forever and i completely agree with you on that. but then if u think about it, I guess nothing in this universe is for forever; Everything dies. What matters is how you spend the time while u are here. And i think you learn a lot while you are in love and while u are getting off it, and such times makes me write such words. So I guess it's a good experience which shapes the memories i'll keep for the rest of my life. And in the process I also get to meet the most beautiful people who will stay with me for the rest of my life in my mind or close to me all the time :) so yay!

Yes... everything does die. But wouldn't you long for something more if you got a glimpse of something and it gets taken away? Unadulterated love is heavenly coz it lasts forever. But can you really tell me that there are humans who love like that? Even if they loved like that once, they will no longer remember those memories with fondness... because love was tainted with something that caused it to end.

I don't know what came over me.. I am actually quite a strong believer on love and actually like the way you write...
Sometimes the mind acts more uncharacteristically than usual... :D

Yes It's only human to long for something that's far away from them. But then on the contrary, it's also not beneficial to long for something that is beyond the control of your own senses. it's a tricky spot, i know, i've experienced it; a lot of us must have. I guess buddha's idea of anitya or impermanence states something similar and thus i believe that it's kinda right to let go once it's beyond our reach. I'm trying to incorporate this principle little by little. i believe life will get brighter and hassle-free once this idea of impermanence settles in completely :)

and hey thank you for appreciating my work and I'm glad we could share thoughts over something!
and yes let the mind wander, it'll only come back with craziness galore B)
